Island Health, Discovery Youth & Family Substance Use Services

Free community-based counselling services, access to residential care and treatment for youth struggling with substance use. We assist youth and/or their families to reduce the harms associated with substance use and related issues. This includes youth aged 13 to 19 who have concerns about alcohol or drug use; families/Caregivers who are concerned about a youth using alcohol or drugs; any support person who is worried about a youth’s use of alcohol or drugs; youth who are affected by someone else’s use of alcohol or drugs. Referral Required. Call and ask to speak to an Intake Counsellor.

New Roots Program

Counselling and programs providing you with a healing environment inclusive of all identities, race, culture, gender, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. We work extensively with people who have exhausted the more traditional, office-based clinical services available to them, and/or who are looking for an approach that speaks to their passions and interests, and who share a love for the natural world around us. Pacific Centre Family Services - Child, Youth, and Family Counselling

Programs include - Youth Services, Youth Talk, Community Outreach Prevention & Education, Crime Prevention & Exploitation, Sexual Abuse Intervention Prevention. We work with isolated seniors, individuals addressing family violence, youth outreach and email counselling, youth gang and exploitation prevention and intervention, family and couples counselling, counselling to address substance use, mental health counselling, and trauma therapy. The Intake Counsellor provides intake services for all of the counselling programs offered at PCFSA.

Sanctuary Youth Centre

Provides a safe and supportive environment for Victoria’s street entrenched or at risk youth. Operating five days a week, our drop-in program gives youth 14-22 years old access to showers, meals, groceries, mentorship and activities. Come in during our regular drop-in hours for a hot meal, laundry, clothing and self-care supplies, showers, fresh and non-perishable food, or just to hang out. We are pet friendly! We have free wifi, a pool table, ping-pong, art and drawing supplies, guitars and drums, and so much more.

Vancouver Island Y

Our free mental wellness programs, Y Mind and Mind Medicine, help participants learn how to manage stress and mild-to-moderate anxiety (individuals experiencing severe anxiety and stress that significantly impacts their ability to perform daily activities likely require more support than what Y Mind is intended to provide). Our programs are evidence-based and teach Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness. To participate, you may self-refer, you do not need a diagnosis of anxiety, and you do not need to be a Y member.
