Lagoon West Park is a natural area that sits on the shore of Esquimalt Lagoon National Migratory Bird Sanctuary.

It is known to be a culturally and archeologically significant site for Lekwungen speaking people of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, where their ancestors lived and would have held gatherings and ceremonies.

We are working to better understand, protect and celebrate this important and beautiful area through dialog with Songhees and Esquimalt elders and knowledge keepers, and through the Colwood Waterfront Stewardship and Heritage Strategy projects.

The park can be accessed from Anchorage Avenue or Goldfinch Road. A trail runs through the park, with connections into the Two Waters development, the Lagoon neighbourhood and Heatherbell Road.

The City's Goldfinch Building is currently set up as an Arts Centre through a lease to Arts & Culture Colwood Society
