Colwood's 2015 Transportation Master Plan (being updated now!)

The Colwood Transportation Master Plan was approved by Colwood Council in September 2015.

Involving you in transportation plans

The 2015 Transportation Master Plan was driven by community input:

Colwood Open House - What's the plan for your street? (April 23, 2014)

Colwood Open House - Creating vibrant neighbourhood centres (February 27, 2014)

Colwood Transportation Cafe (November 20, 2013)

The City of Colwood created a Transportation Master Plan in 2015 to improve how community members and visitors travel in and through our city - whether they are driving, walking, biking or using transit.

A lot has changed since 2015 as our community has grown. A project is underway now to update the Transportation Master Plan.

Traffic modeling

The City has created a new Colwood Traffic Model which is able to forecast traffic volumes on Colwood's major roads to support transportation planning.

Mobility Data + Travel Patterns

A number of active transportation improvements have been implemented by the City to meet the demands of a growing population since 2015 as well. Learn more about Changes in Colwood Mobility Data + Travel Patterns

Street Network Improvements

Guided by the 2015 TMP and more recent traffic modeling and technical study, a series of long-term street network improvements have been identified for Colwood. These include street widening, new traffic signals and opportunities for roundabouts to continue to support efficient, safe movement in our community. Long-term network improvements were shared on Information Boards at the Colwood Ideas Fair in April 2024.
