The annual 10,000 Tonight Food Drive which will be annual 10,000 Tonight Food Drive which will be taking place on Wednesday, December 4th from 5-9pm. Royal Bay Secondary students will be going door to door collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations throughout the city of Colwood.
A number of years ago, the 10,000 Tonight event was launched with the goal to collect 10,000 non-perishable food items in a single night. Since then, it has expanded to all three high schools in the Sooke School District. All food collected will be donated to the Goldstream Food Bank.
10,000 Tonight has become an important tradition at Royal Bay. Our student leaders work extremely hard to organize this event and we are always amazed at how both our school and local community are able to provide their generous support, year after year without fail. The holiday season is a difficult time for many individuals and families in the Westshore and Sooke communities. 10,000 Tonight is not only a fantastic way for students and community members to build a shared sense of identity, but it is also an essential way to give back to the community.
