Did you know the Colwood Fire Department works seamlessly with the Langford and View Royal Fire Departments to ensure emergencies are responded to as quickly as possible?

This formal collaboration is thanks to Mutual Aid and Auto Aid Agreements the departments have worked to put in place over the years. It ensures that when someone in our community needs help, emergency responders are there for them. And as our communities grow with more people, taller buildings, and multiple calls become more frequent, the equipment and resources will be available among the departments to respond rapidly and appropriately.

On Monday, August 28, Colwood Council renewed the Mutual Aid Agreement between Colwood Fire Department and Langford Fire Department. Renewal of the View Royal agreement will be brought forward on its regular schedule. Going forward the departments may look to take the collaborative approach one step further with a tri-city agreement to smooth and solidify the partnerships even more.
