Colwood's Strategic Plan includes specific pathways to support community Engagement and Well-Being, and Colwood Council is focused on involving residents in all that's happening in Colwood, bringing neighbours together to support social connection, and fostering a community that cares.

The City has launched a new program that encourages residents to recognize neighbours who go out of their way to make life better in Colwood.

"Colwood is known as a welcoming, caring, and connected community. This was confirmed in our 2023 Life in Colwood survey where 81% of residents described Colwood as a friendly City," said Colwood Mayor Doug Kobayashi. "Creating ways for residents to recognize good neighbours is a simple but meaningful way to foster that sense of community."

An easy way to express your gratitude

Is there someone in Colwood you feel deserves recognition for the benefit they bring to our community? A neighbour who makes a difference in the lives of fellow Colwood citizens?

Maybe they went above and beyond to help when needed. Or they offer their time and experience generously.  Perhaps they are simply someone who makes our community better because they are always positive and have a kind word.

If you would like to recognize someone as a good neighbour, complete the simple form at www.colwood.ca/GoodNeighbour. Our team will connect to confirm details and arrange for a letter of acknowledgement to be sent from the Mayor.

We look forward to sharing stories of Good Neighbours and the good feelings they bring!
