The Royal Beach Eats & Beats Beach Party is the biggest free community event of the summer for thousands of people, and this year will be hosted at a new location just south of the lagoon at Royal Beach.
On Saturday July 29th we’ll be rocking with The Zolas at the beach by the ocean!!
Get ready for a high energy, sonic love letter to the mid-’90s golden age of British pop.
Following their 2016 radio-smashing, Juno-nominated breakthrough Swooner, The Zolas latest album Come Back to Life is an unrepentantly joyful ode to a magical time in music.
At the same time, the Zolas aren’t afraid to get serious on the lyrical side of things. Thought provoking songs like Wreck Beach Totem Park which touches on the experience of Indigenous people in Canada, to I Feel the Transition which digs into the issue of global wealth disparity. (Have a listen to I Feel the Transition.)
The Zolas are an invitation to dance, celebrate and connect to what matters… feel the joy and pass it on.
You’ve got to be there for dancing by the ocean when The Zolas perform live at Eats & Beats.
A full day of great live music
Leading up to The Zolas performance we’ll be rocking with a boat-load of local favourite bands.
OK Charlie brings the absolute best of both modern and retro to get you moving.
The Temps stir up good times wherever they go, playing all the songs you forgot were your favourites.
The Projectors are Victoria’s newest indie rock band with a sound that’s familiar but also uniquely their own, drawing on the early aught rock scene of the Strokes and the Walkmen.
And Nautical Disaster brings the Hip to life in the most energetic and enigmatic way.
So much to enjoy at the Eats & Beats Beach Party
Enjoy live music on stage all day, beachside beverage service provided by Victoria Beer Society, a food truck festival with flavours from around the world, a street market featuring unique Island treasures, and fun activities like a climbing wall, paddling, beach games and more.
