Before You Begin

The following documents are required for every Tree Management Permit Application and must be submitted with your application:

  • Photos of the tree(s) to be removed
  • Tree Management Plan
  • Tree Site Plan

Get Started

1. Go to the online Tree Management Permit Application

Note: If you are an Agent acting on behalf of a property owner, use the online Tree Management Permit Application and Agent Authorization package.

2. Select Start

Provide Owner and Contact Information

3. Enter the first and last legal names and contact information for each owner
Note: All owners must be listed on the permit application.

4. Enter the contact information for a Qualified Professional, if applicable

5. Select a primary contact
Note: This will default to the Agent, if one exists.

6. Complete all applicable fields
Note: Be sure to read all advisories, notes, and fees.

7. Review and confirm the required documents

8. Verify that the information you’ve entered in the web form is correct

Attach Documents and Complete the Signing Process

9. Make any necessary adjustments to the form

10. Upload all accompanying documents by clicking the attachment field

IMPORTANT: DO NOT DRAG AND DROP FILES. Select files one at a time using the Upload a File button. You can upload any number of  files to your application if none are over 25 MB in size. If you have larger files to attach, please check the box on the form beside the Application Attachments button. We will contact you with instructions for secure delivery of these files.

11. Click Sign and adopt a signature, draw, or upload your signature

12. Once finished, you can choose to print or download a copy of the completed application or choose Close. You will receive an email with a link to view the completed document and can download or print a copy at your convenience.

The Colwood Development Services Department will automatically receive your completed application when all signers have completed the signing process. There is no need to forward any documents outside this process.
